Saw Kick Ass tonight and it was awesome.
Excellent characters. I really did care if Kick Ass would get the girl. I really did feel for the plight of Big Daddy and Hit Girl. I also felt a bit sorry for Red Mist, being the son of his workoholic gangster father.
Action scenes were original, shocking, and exciting. The first fight where Kick Ass gets stabbed, then run over is quite vicious and sets the tone for how real painful the battles can get. The fight that gets uploaded onto Youtube, I almost wanted to cheer for Kick Ass. The introduction of Hit Girl in the drugs den. Big Daddy in the lumber yard. The final shoot out.

Kick Ass is an exhilarating mash of comic book mythology and sensibility, oozing with energy, optimism, and intricate film making craft.
