i watched "would like to meet" last night. it reminded me of all those 80's coming of age, John Hughes movies, but stopped half way through. in those movies, a gimp is lonely, unpopular and an outcast. along comes a chance to become cool, and popular. gimp does it, and enjoys his 15 minutes, gets the girl. ultimatley gimp discovers he was much happier where he was in the first place AND keeps the girl. the Cinderella syndrome. "would like to meet" stops at the gimp enjoying their 15 minutes. am i to think that the movies stops there? do i believe the agitprop of my youth? I often wonder what effect the movies of my youth had on my psyche. I had Oliver! and Time Bandits on video, and must have watched those movies everyday after school for 3 years, and sometimes on weekends and holidays. over a thousand times i shared my informative years with midgets, the Supreme Being, singing prostitutes and Oliver Reed...

if anyone is wondering who the mighty Olav is click here
