first some congratulations

hey nick, congratulations! I hope it all went swimmingly well, and you managed to clean up all the washing machine water, and you didnt wake up with one eyebrow, and al green managed to do the business. best of luck matey!

things i dont expect in japan

there is a direct line advert on tv. with the same red phone on wheels skating around, with the same jingle. da da der der der der der der der.

spain

that was a shock wasnt it? couldnt hardly believe it myself. i wish i was eric blair, then i would have something intelligent to say about it. i do think that withdrawing the troops from iraq is an extremely bad idea though.

paris, texas

i watched paris, texas. you know, that wim wenders film, with al from quantum leap, and one of those guys from alien in it too (dean stockwell and harry dean stanton). its a really good movie, wonderfully shot, spanning the texan sky. stanton really does look like hes been wondering the desert for 4 years. i loved his monologe in houston, something about his voice that rattles and hums. if i was to write a book, i would steal all its lines.

also saw the majestic, that jim carrey movies. it was ok. very cheesy and right on. god bless the commies and macarthyism.

read the importance of being earnest, lady windermeres fan and a woman of no importance. wilde was really funny wasnt he? shall i be all clever and finish this paragraph with a wildeian witticism? nah, i cant be arsed.

still reading austers ghosts.

he was kinda raggedy and wild

ive seen beat takeshi a few times on tv out here. he was wearing a clown outfit, with a white face and 2 red spots on his cheeks. a bright shiny blue outfit, and big shoes. no wonder he dont get no respect out here.

been listening to belle and sebastians dear catastrophe waitress. id rather be in tokyo, and listen to the ladio, see the sunday gang in harajuku, somethings wrong im a cuckoo.

its hanami in japan soon. it translates as flower watching.
to be specific, cherry blossom watching.
to be more specific, its a cherry blossom watching party.
(or in other words, hundreds of horny salarymen are going to cut work early and drink sake whilst looking aimlessly into the pink trees (so im told anyway). )

lets watch the flowers.
