kuala lumpar and hanoi
i'm in an internet cafe with grey wash walls and an electric fan covered in grim. only in here for a short bit so will give you the basics only.
stopped in kuala lumpar for a night to transfer planes. it's a nice place. people wear saris and speak cantonese. street stalls have no idea about hygeine but the noodles taste pretty good. it has night markets and fake goods. roasted pigs and ducks hang from hooks and they beckon use over to eat. it's like hong kong was before sars.
flew to hanoi. it is hot here. motorcyclists are crazy. you must stare them out if you want to cross the road. street stalls here have even less idea about hygiene. i saw a man cut chicken with rusty scissors into my noodles. it tasted pretty good. also went to ha long bay. it's a bay with loads of sheer rock monoliths. these giants tower over you as you ride the boat under the caves and crevices. birds fly from shoulder to shoulder and see things that we cannot. also hiked into a cave. after only a few minutes in the darkness you begin to feel lost. you trapse around and see the stone formations that look like teeth and daggers and monsters. you touch them with your hand to make sure they aren't real and they aren't. when you leave the cave the light pouring in is bright and white and after the time in the darkness, hurts your tiny eyes.
next to hoi an...
