working man blues
ebert is back. he's still in hospital apparently though. his operation didn't go as well as planned and he started bleeding. he went under the knife in june and woke up in september. everything else is in fragments. his respect doctors are now his beloved doctors. he loves his job more than before and he loves his wife even more than that.
his muscles have atrophied. he has to learn to walk again. the doctors say he will eventually be able to move normally again. he'll be able to walk, eat, taste, do everything, but not yet. soon. he watches dvds and reads books. people he has never met send him cards and emails wishing the best. people have said prays and he has survived.
he reviewed a film again recently. the queen. gave it four stars. i don't know how old he is, but he looks old from his photo. he has grey hair. he looks a little chubby. i wonder how many more film reviews he has in him. i wonder if he asks himself the same question. i wonder if he really wants to write film reviews anymore, or is it the only thing he knows how to do. could he stop himself if his life depended on it?
i found a copy of the new testament in my draw the other day. i looked at random pages. the words were tiny and the paper was thin. so thin that it was nearly translucent. the type of paper where if you turn the page too violently, they will rip and be torn apart.
