Flagging Common Sense

It seems the organisers for Big Day Out in Australia want to ban flags from the music festival. They say it could be used as gang colours and bring about a repeat of the Sydney riots. This has provoked outrage amongst the Australian public and government. As usual, the world is ruled by monstrous lunacy.

If you want to give a symbol to your enemies, don't make it your national flag. Don't give a vicious ugly minority the biggest sign of unity avaliable. Don't politicise the flag into something it is not, and remember the original use of it. It should represent Australia. The whole country. From every dollar to every piece of trash. Every broken window to every sip of beer. The whole shebang. Every corner of every state of every city to every house and every last drop of every person.

If they thought about it more, they would have encouraged everyone to bring a flag. That would have been a sign of unity. I am Sparticus. We are Sparticus. Me. We.

Indeed.
