Jetlag
Finding it difficult to sleep past 4am, so have started reading Will Ferguson's japanese travelogue Hokkaido Highway Blues. I've so far read around 60 pages, and it's fantastic.
I've also been watching MTV Japan, and it's a good cocktail of western rock and eastern idols. Every other channel is in japanese, so my TV options are limited. Last Thursday I watched nearly 11 hours of MTV Japan, and they had clips of Fuji Rock, which looked like the cleanest, most polite music festival ever. If the rolling fields of Glastonbury look impressive, imagine watching bands under the gaze of Mount Fuji.
It is so hot and humid here, everyday I'm walking through an energy sapping fog. I'm sleepy whenever I'm outside, and I praise the lord for the numerous vending machines offering me cool life saving drinks. Stepping outside an air conditioned room is like having a preheated oven type heat blast engulfing your whole body. It is also is my first day at work. I have to fight the temperatures wearing 'business attire'. One day you'll find me lying down on the sunbaked road, melting into the asphalt.
