Wednesday morning, 3pm

I landed in Kansai airport yesterday afternoon after a 12 hour flight, during which I watched that Steve Martin movie, Bringing Down the House (twice), Phone Booth and X-Men 2. I then met my contact and was given tickets for my next journey, an express train to Shin Osaka station, then the Shinkansen to Nagoya, my home city for the next year or more.

The company I work for, Nova, haven't quite arranged my apartment yet, so I am currently staying in a 'guesthouse' which is infact a shack full of Australians. The place has those sliding doors, with those tiny little windows, but filled with frosted glass instead of paper. The floor is lined with straw mats and the walls are also made of wood. It is 30+ degrees, so I hope the non smoking rule is enforced. I also saw my first cockroach this morning.

But actually everything has been going well. I'm alive and I'm not afraid. I went to HMV today and was shocked to see that there was no section for Bob Dylan. I was dismayed and quite disgusted. I then noticed that the artists are sectioned alphabetically using their first names. A few rows under Springsteen was Dylan.

See, it's all the same really, things just look a bit different.

PS

Thankyou to all the well wishers, you know who you are. If I had a canonisation cannon, I'd shoot you all and make you holy saints.
