he has no clothes!

is this freedom of speech? (google "censoring websites")
is this freedom of speech? ("cartoon row")
is this freedom of speech? ("jailed for inciting murder and race hate")
is this freedom of speech? ("The US government has said the images should not have been released and could incite violence.")

"roll up, roll up! it's the greatest show on earth! come see, come see! you will not witness anything like it, in this lifetime nor the next. it's a mythical beast with extraordinary powers! it is worshipped by all and understood by few."

you know, we've actually been had. we've been hoodwinked. we've been tricked and conned. we've been bamboozled. the wool has been pulled over our eyes and wrapped several times around our heads. the rug has been yanked under us. yes, it needs a boy with a pen and a silly picture to point before we can all see the proud naked man and all his silliness. now we can all laugh at him before laughing at ourselves.

in our minds it's the greatest prize of enlightenment. it jewel in the crown of learning. the pearl in the slimy oyster of past wars and blood. we like to dish it out to all these naive children and force them to learn it; and when they shrug their shoulders we get angry. the greatest trick we ever pulled was to convince ourselves that it exists and will exist forever.

and if you still like it, we can sell you a piece. we will of course trim it and cut it so you only get the parts you want. search for it on google or yahoo. there's a price for everything and when they ask you just say that you didn't know what else to do as you rub your hands in pots of gold and drink cups of chocolate.

as spiderman's uncle might say: with great freedom comes great responsibility. everyday people die so we might have it and it shouldn't so easily be abused and tainted and it really is a rocket fuel needed for liberty so that however much this this person says this or that person says that there hopefully will be enough people to shout them down or speak up in their defence and surely the quieter world will be a poorer world: with less voice is less power and our voice is sometimes the only power we have, which is actually very luck because it's also the most potent weapon we own and we should carry it primed at all times.

"so here's to more shouting and smashing the machines that would silence us, but never those that would disagree."
