Better Than God

There is now a computer program that is unbeatable at draughts. The makers of Chinook says, "This program could play draughts against God and it would get a draw."

Don't you just love human hubris? As if God had nothing better to do than play stupid games. He probably more likely wringing his hands over the mess we have made of this planet. It took him a day to make the oceans, and although it has taken use a few thousand years, we are well on our way to polluting the whole sorry lot. That'll teach God. You can't beat us at that either.

I also don't think Chinook can beat every human being at draughts either. What would you do if you were playing a machine and you were losing? Resign? Shake its hand? Or just turn it off at the mains and make a cup of tea? And I'm sure if I thought of that, then it must have occured to God too.
