Four Feet High and Rising (picture taken from BBC drama series)

Everyday we've been hearing of more bloody rain in the worst hit areas. Some say it's a complete and utter disaster. Others say it's nothing compared to other natural disasters, such as the Boxing Day tsunami or Hurricane Katrina.

I think the place you call home is the most sacred places you have. To have it invaded and damaged in anyway is psychologically scarring. All your things, all your memories are potentially destroyed, never to be recovered again. Your home is a private place where you should always feel comfortable and to have something take away that feeling is quite a shock.

A few people have died because of the floods, but as Mark Corrigan might say: it's not a competition, but if it were then the tsunami would win. I guess misery loves company.
